24 Hours Before Your Appointment

The safety of both our customers and our technicians is our top priority at Ashbusters, which is why we ask that you stop using your fireplace or stove for at least 24 hours before we are set to arrive at your home for your appointment. To protect our CSIA-certified chimney professionals, your appliance needs to be completely cool when they are sweeping and inspecting your chimney. We also request that you safely remove any ashes that may be in your firebox by disposing of them into a metal container and placing the container outside on a non-combustible surface.

The Day of Your Appointment

Before Ashbusters arrives at your home that day, you will need to remove any fragile or precious items that are near your fireplace. To sweep your chimney, we must bring specialized equipment into your home, and we ask that you give us about five to six feet of clearance space around your hearth to be able to work efficiently. We do require that someone be at home for the entire sweeping process, and we invite you to watch us work. When our customers watch us sweep and inspect their chimneys, they learn so much about how to most effectively operate their fireplaces. We also pass along important chimney safety practices as we work.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Whether you call us or we call you back after you submit a scheduling form, you can expect our team to ask you a couple of questions.

Are you representing the home? We get a lot of real-estate managers, property managers and personal assistants that call for homeowners. Knowing who owns the home helps us to accurately save files and information relating to your services.

Have you used us for your appliance before? If so, we have all your past services on file and it speeds up the scheduling process.

Where is your home located? This ensures that you are in our service area.

What kind of appliance are you wanting to be serviced? (wood-burning fireplace, wood-burning stove, gas logs, etc)

How many stories is your home? What is the exterior of your chimney made out of? What do you have on your roof? (metal shingles, terra cotta, etc)

We do not share the pricing of our services on our site. Because each service has multiple variables including the number of flues, the type of appliance, etc we can only give you an accurate price until we fully understand your appliance and the time and materials it will take to be serviced.
